We depart on our overnight transatlantic flight to Scotland. Meals and snacks are served on board.
Upon arrival in Edinburgh, we are greeted by our WCT Professional Tour Manager who escorts to our private motor coach. Upon transfer to Edinburgh, we enjoy a guided orientation tour, ending with our exploration of the city’s Royal Mile. We continue to our hotel for check in and enjoy a welcome dinner together this evening.
After breakfast this morning, we delight in a guided tour of Edinburgh’s medieval Georgian Districts, including viewing the Volcanic Rock of Arthur’s Seat and visits to Edinburgh Castle and St. Giles Cathedral. The remainder of the day is free for self-arranged activities and sightseeing.
Following breakfast this morning, we depart a full-days excursion to the town of Dollar, where we visit the grand Castle of Campbell, whose rustic ruins overlook this picturesque village. This evening, we return to Edinburgh for dinner together in the city.
We enjoy breakfast at the hotel this morning before transferring to the town of Stirling. Upon arrival, we have a personal guided tour of one of Scotland’s finest examples of Renaissance architecture, Stirling Castle, which also is favored residence of the Stuart Monarchs. Following lunch on our own, we visit the iconic Wallace Monument. The remainder of the evening is being spent at our own leisure after returning to Edinburgh.
Following breakfast and hotel check-out this morning, we journey back through time on the “Hogwarts Express” (Jacobite Steam Train), in transfer to the coastal town of Oban. Our exciting train tour takes us across Glenfinnan Viaduct, providing views of Glen Coe, Ben Nevis, and the friendly fishing village of Mallaig, known throughout the U.K. for its fresh and delicious seafood. We have time to explore Mallaig Oban, where we check into our hotel and enjoy dinner together this evening.
This morning after breakfast, we transfer by ferry to the tranquil, simple beauty of the Isle of Iona. Upon arrival, we visit Iona Abbey, which served as the focal point for the spread of Christianity throughout Scotland, and remains a popular site of Christian pilgrimages today. We return to Oban and enjoy the remainder of the evening at our own leisure.
Following breakfast and hotel check-out this morning, we depart for Edinburgh, stopping en route at Scotland’s countryside gems along-the-way. First, we tour Inveraray Castle, which is located on the rocky shores of Loch Fyne. We have time for lunch on our own before transferring to Loch Lomond, where we absorb the magnificent landscape views, ending with a visit to Trossachs National Park. Upon arrival in Edinburgh, we check into our hotel and delight in a festive Farewell Dinner together at a local restaurant.
After breakfast this morning, we transfer to the Edinburgh airport for our return flight home.
